IF YOU PICK CITRINE, YOU SEEK TO BE CREATIVE.

♦ OLDEN DAYS MYTHS
People chose citrine to put them in touch with their creative spirit. They thought citrine gave mental clarity and the focus needed to move forward. Frustrated by a tendency to put off finishing art projects? Citrine might be your stone!

♦ ROCK-SOLID FACTS
Citrine is a yellow variety of quartz. When an amethyst is heated to between 878 degrees Fahrenheit and 1,040 degrees Fahrenheit (470 degrees Celsius and 560 degrees Celsius) in special ovens, it changes color from purple to yellow and becomes citrine. Natural citrine is rare. A lot of the citrine you see in stores is heat-treated amethyst.

♦ ROCK ON
If you leave citrine in direct sunlight for several months, it may fade. (Don't test this with your mom's jewelry!)
