IF YOU PICK JADE, YOU SEEK TO PROMOTE PEACE.

♦ OLDEN DAYS MYTHS
There are many stories about jade, most of them from China. Associated only with positive energies, jade was believed to be a healing stone that promoted charity, modesty, wisdom, serenity, and love.

♦ ROCK-SOLID FACTS
What people call jade can actually be one of two different minerals: nephrite or jadeite. Both jades can be white, green, gray, brown, or lavender.

♦ ROCK ON
During the Stone Age, before the discovery of metals, people shaped jade—which holds a sharp edge well—into tools such as knives and axes. Because jade is easily carved, artists later used jade in many forms of art, including jewelry and sculptures.
