Computers
There are computers practically everyplace you look, but you don't realize it. Ads on the street, personalized to your interests, appear on computer screen billboards as you walk by. At home, computer displays are invisible until you need themcamouflaged in your desk, the wall, or a mirror. When you're on the go, paper-thin monitors fold to fit in your pocket. "Using nanotechnology, we'll shrink electronics down," explains futurist Andrew Zolli. Sizewise, nano means one-billionth. A nanometer, for example, is one-billionth of a meterinvisible to the naked eye. Microscopic computerized robots called nanobots (example, above), work together to perform tasks from recycling trash to destroying cancer cells.
