Wireless technology is everywhere. You can call your friends using your jacket sleeve (above) and have your shoe e-mail someone else's shoe. Often nano-size, "smart technology" is in fabrics and other materials. "Your whole body and surroundings become part of the same network," says wireless expert Ampy Buchholz. People rely on smart technology for nearly everything yet barely notice it exists—much as people have lived with electricity since it became widespread.
