SPLAT WITCH
YOU WILL NEED
  • Scissors
  • Red or orange yarn
  • Black duct tape
  • Witch's hat
  • 2 pairs adult-size knee socks (striped or black)
  • Lots of plastic grocery bags for stuffing
  • Red duct tape (optional)
  • Cardboard rectangle cut 1 foot (0.3 meter) wide by 2 feet (0.6 meter) long
  • Heavy-duty stapler
  • Black cape
  • Old pair of dark-color gloves
  • Old sneakers or boots
  • Fishing line
  • Broom
HERE'S HOW

HEAD
Cut yarn into foot-long (0.3 meter-long) pieces and tape them to the witch's hat to create hair.

ARMS AND LEGS
Stuff both pairs of socks. (Hint: You can stripe solid-color socks with red tape.)

BODY
Use the cardboard for the witch's body. Tape the arms and legs onto the cardboard, then staple the hat and cape in place. Put on the stuffed gloves, then the shoes. Tape in place.

CRASH LANDING
Ask an adult to mount the witch to a tree or wall with fishing line. Balance the broom in a tree limb or detach the broom from the pole and tape the broom end to the cardboard. To support the arms and legs, tie fishing line around them and string them to tree branches. Another option is to lay the witch facedown as if it has crashed into the ground.

Tip: Work with an adult to create these creepy crafts.
