Since his Academy Award-nominated Brooklyn Bridge in 1981, Ken Burns has directed and produced some of the most acclaimed historical documentaries ever made. His most recent film, The War, demonstrates that in extraordinary times, there are no ordinary lives. His series of epic documentaries began with the landmark television series The Civil War and continued with Baseball and Jazz, a film that explores the birth of jazz music.
