This program, presented as part of the Environmental Film Festival in the Nation’s Capital will be introduced by Flo Stone, the festival’s artistic director and founder.

Gopher Broke (USA/2004/4 min) In this Academy-Award nominated film, a hungry gopher hatches a clever plan to get a quick snack. Produced by Blur Studio.
The Girl Who Hated Books (Canada/2006/7 min) In this animation, based on the book by Manjusha Pawagi, a young girl discovers the joys of reading after an incident brings a delightful array of book characters to life. Directed by Jo Meuris and produced by the National Film Board of Canada and Tamara Lynch.
Tree Officer (UK/2005/6 min) A county Tree Officer finds a way to cope with the frustrations of his job. Produced by Ko-Lik Films.
Badgered (UK/2005/6 min) The tale of a badger who just wants the world to let him sleep. Directed by Sharon Colman and produced by the National Film and Television School.
Turtle World (Australia/1996/9 min) A new world as created by a sea turtle. Directed by Nick Hilligoss and produced by the Natural History Unit, Australian Broadcasting Corporation.
First Flight (USA/2006/8 min) A disgruntled businessman teaches a baby bird to fly. Directed by Cameron Hood and Kyle Jefferson, and produced by Dreamworks.

Just Added:
The Danish Poet (Norway, Canada/2006/15min) This film, narrated by Liv Ulmann, offers a charming look at the amazing chain of events that can lead to one's existence.
