Archaeologist and author Eric H. Cline in Jerusalem Photograph by D. Gold
In the new National Geographic book From Eden to Exile: Unraveling Mysteries of
the Bible, archaeologist Eric H. Cline explores some of the Bible’s most enduring
mysteries to see what light archaeology, Bible studies, and comparative literature
may shed on the biblical accounts of the Garden of Eden, Noah’s Ark, and other
topics. Cline discloses tantalizing possibilities for each of the mysteries in question
and proposes solutions that may startle some readers. Joining him and National Geographic senior writer Alan Mairson for a discussion of archaeology, faith,
and the Bible will be Hershel Shanks, editor of Biblical Archaeology Review;
Tremper Longman III, professor of biblical studies at Westmont College in
Santa Barbara, California; and Randall Younker, a professor of archaeology at
Andrews University, a Seventh-day Adventist institution in Berrien Springs, Michigan.
