Take a guided tour into the world of beer and the art of refermentation with Garrett Oliver, the legendary brewmaster of the Brooklyn Brewery—one of America’s first microbreweries—and a leading authority on traditional beer. Refermentation was a dying art in the world of brewing, until the craft-brewing revolution brought a renewed appreciation of this traditional brewing technique. Oliver, who is also the author of the award-winning book The Brewmaster’s Table: Discovering the Pleasures of Real Beer with Real Food, will explain how refermentation helps maintain freshness and adds complexity to beer and will guide a tasting of some of the finest refermented beers available today. (Must be 21 or older)

Sponsored in part by the BRICKSKELLER, home to the world’s largest selection of beers, and presented with the assistance of Brewers United for Real Potables (BURP).

One of Garrett Oliver's beers, Brooklyn Lager, recently won the Washington Post's "Beer Madness" contest. Click here for more details.
