Brewmaster Garrett Oliver Photograph Courtesy Garrett Oliver
One of the foremost authorities on traditional brewing, Garrett Oliver,
returns to National Geographic to share his expertise and lead a timely tasting
reflecting one of the most exciting recent developments in the world of beer:
a burgeoning craftbrewing movement in Italy! Long thought of as a wine-producing
rather than a brewing country, Italy has in the past few years seen
the birth of several fine microbreweries. The result is an array of products
that go beyond the traditional European beer styles, making for a brave new
world of brews that echoes the inventiveness of Belgian brewers, but with
an unmistakably Italian flair. Garrett Oliver is brewmaster of The Brooklyn
Brewery, and author of The Brewmaster’s Table. (Must be 21 or older.)
Sponsored in part by the BRICKSKELLER, home to the world's largest selection of beers, and presented with the assistance of Brewers United for Real Potables (BURP).
