Michael DiSpezio shares the excitement of maps Photograph by Rebecca Hale
Take a fascinating journey into the world of
maps and exploration at this learning adventure
with Michael DiSpezio, one of the world’s
most entertaining science educators. In this
interactive presentation, inspired by the
National Geographic Museum exhibition
"Maps: Tools for Adventure", DiSpezio will show how maps are important tools that help us
explore the world. You’ll witness astonishing
3-D maps that appear to jump from the
auditorium screen, and you’ll learn how famous
explorers used maps to reach new places and
make important discoveries. A former teacher, DiSpezio is a dynamic
communicator who has co-hosted numerous
live broadcasts of the JASON Project, reaching
millions of students worldwide.
This program lasts approximately 30-35 minutes, and is recommended for ages 7-11.
