Habib C. Malik, a 1995 visiting fellow at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy, authored Between Damascus and Jerusalem: Lebanon and Middle East Peace. He received his Ph.D. in modern European intellectual history from Harvard University and is a founding member of the Foundation for Human and Humanitarian Rights, an independent, nongovernmental organization in Lebanon. Malik teaches history and cultural studies at the Lebanese American University in Beirut.
