Dan Neal is the assistant managing editor for news at the Casper Star-Tribune, which is circulated throughout the state of Wyoming. He has worked at the paper since the early 1980s, covering various wildlife issues, including the wolf reintroduction project.

Neal previously worked at newspapers in Washington State and elsewhere in Wyoming. His writing has also appeared in National Wildlife magazine.

An avid hiker, fisherman, and hunter, Neal lives in Casper with his wife, Judy, and two children, David and Katherine. His daughter Emily attends college in Massachusetts.
