Bookmark this page and stay up to date on the first shuttle mission (STS-99) of the new year. The Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM) will use special imaging radar to map the Earth in three dimensions. The six person crew will stay in orbit for eleven days gathering the data for the most comprehensive map of the Earth ever produced.
