4.  CARE TO TAKE A DIP?
Bacteria consume some of the suspended solids and dissolved material in filtered sewage. The bacteria settle on the bottom of the tank. The remaining water, or effluent, is now at least 65 percent cleaned up—ready to be pumped into New York’s waterways.
