Photograph Inner-City Cowboy

Under the watchful gaze of Malcolm X, urban cowboy Leo Hill rides through North Philadelphia on his way to Fairmont Park. North Philadelphia is home to several city stables that cater to horse-lovers. “They may be doctors or cops or business people or laborers in real life, but once they get to the stables, they are cowboys. And girls,” says Tarver.
