“The mile-wide Chichagof channel runs up almost through the center of Chichagof Island, in southeastern Alaska. It’s very cloudy and misty because, after all, the Tongass is rain forest. It rains a heck of a lot of the time. We have come ashore in this boat to visit some people in a small town called Tenakee Springs.”
