NOTE TO PARENTS AND EDUCATORS
We hope everyone will enjoy Polymers: Theyre Everywhere, but it is especially intended to help elementary and middle-school students learn more about their world and about recycling. This three-part feature, brought to you by the Plastics ResourceTM, looks at polymers in nature and at home, shows how you can recognize different polymers for easy recycling, and takes you on a journey through a recycling plant. Each part has a fun, real-world learning activity for young people to do at home or in school. The first part focuses on nature; come back in February and April for parts two and three! If you want to learn more, Hands on Plastics is a curriculum kit for middle-school classrooms designed by the National Middle Level Science Teachers Association and the American Plastics Council. Find out how to get it by clicking here.
