Following is a planned itinerary; however the schedule is flexible depending on the weather and spontaneous wildlife-viewing opportunities.
 ITINERARY: 8 DAYS

Fly to Los Cabos and transfer to La Paz and our comfortable and versatile expedition ship, Sea Bird.

December 28 Isla Santa Catalina
Throughout the voyage, we have planned many exciting activities for every age-group—from lectures and games to Zodiac cruising, snorkeling, and nature walks. Today, track marine life around Isla Danzante, an outstanding area for blue whales and bottlenose dolphins. Later, explore Isla Santa Catalina with its giant cactuses and extraordinary bird and marine life.

December 29 Bahía San Basilio/Isla Ildefonso
Kayak and swim the serene waters off Bahía San Basilio. Younger expedition members will enjoy exploring the island's tiny lagoon. Then visit the nesting seabirds on the small and rugged island of Ildefonso.

December 31 Isla San Marcos/Santa Rosalía
Swim and snorkel the idyllic coves of Isla San Marcos. Discover intriguing birdlife on a walk to the island's interior. Visit the colorful port town of Santa Rosalía with its church designed by Gustave Eiffel—a striking remnant of the French colony that was once here. Enjoy a special New Year's Eve celebration with family and friends.

January 1 Isla San José
Take a Zodiac through the island's lush mangrove channels and discover nearby middens, or ancient shell mounds—evidence of the region's Indian history.
(B,L,D)

January 2 Islas Partida/Espíritu Santo
Islas Partida and Espíritu Santo, with their dramatic cliff-lined coasts, are considered two of the most beautiful islands in the Sea of Cortés. Enjoy a leisurely afternoon of swimming, snorkeling, hiking, bird-watching, and, conditions permitting, a beach barbecue.

Disembark in La Paz and transfer to the Los Cabos airport for your flight home.

 ABOUT THE M.V. SEA BIRD

M.V. Sea Bird Accommodating just 64 guests in 32 outside cabins, Sea Bird is large enough to operate in remote environments in comfort, yet small enough to enter ports and narrow inlets inaccessible to bigger ships. She carries sea kayaks and a fleet of Zodiacs, which can be launched at a moment’s notice, providing easy access to coastlines and other places of interest. Each cabin faces outside. All cabins have windows and are attractively and comfortably furnished with lower berths, private bathrooms, reading lights, and individual climate control.
