Pacific Coast Highway, California

I have taken a few trips on this highway in the last five years, and it takes my breath away every time—the ancient redwoods, the crashing waves in Monterey, the quaint town of Carmel, the drama of Big Sur (with, in my opinion, the best inn in the country, the Post Ranch), the majestic castle of San Simeon, and the charming town of Cambria, where antiques are in great supply. This is truly an experience that stays with you forever, and the only way to top it is to do it again.
