Tatshenshini River: A decade ago, when contributing editor Jeff Rennicke first rafted this remote British Columbia river, it was considered one of the most endangered rivers on the continent due to a proposed mining project. This month Rennicke celebrates the rivers saving grace, which came on June 23, 1993 when the area was declared a 2.3-million-acre preserve and thus the mining proposal was thrown out.
