Merit Award: Jayanta Roy

Canon Rebel K2 camera and the National Geographic Photography Field Guide.

A paddling of ducks, chased down by a gaggle of girls, captured the imagination of Jayanta Roy, an amateur photographer from Kolkata, West Bengal, India. "One little girl was seated, facing a pond covered in duckweed. The green water, the red bow, and the duck's white plumage delighted me," he says.
