hen on assignment, I'm always searching for places that overlook the city," says photographer Sisse Brimberg. "We naturally went to Westerkirk, an historic church with a tall spire. The tower was closed for renovation, but the entrance door was ajar. I yelled, 'Anyone there?' A muffled response came from above. Ascending many steps, we encountered a couple of craftsmen at work. Catching my breath, I stuttered, 'I'm a photographer working on assignment for National Geographic Traveler.' They kindly escorted me and Cotton up to the balcony that offered this expansive view of the city."
