wonder of Milan, the many-spired Duomo has drawn admirers like these Catholic monks for nearly 600 years. The Gothic masterpiece first held services in 1418, but was not completed until the 19th century, when Napoleon, who was crowned king of Italy inside the cathedral, ordered the completion of the church's facade. "These monks were standing on the roof terrace," says photographer Guido Cozzi, "which is one of the most popular places to enjoy a beautiful view. In the heart of a fast and furious business city like Milan, you can still find a peaceful oasis such as this."
