ocals gather at the Churchill Arms pub in Kensington, a close-in borough of London, to watch a Wimbledon tennis match on the telly. The pub honors the memory of Sir Winston Churchill, the famed prime minister who led Britain through its darkest hours. In Traveler's April feature story, "London Calling," writer Patrick J. Kelly travels to London for the first time, intent on visiting the places that his father, an American soldier stationed in England during World War II, told him stories about when he was a boy. Like many London pubs, the Churchill Arms now offers family dining, going beyond the standard pub fare. This pub's specialty is Thai food.
