Photo: National Taiwan Democracy Memorial Hall in Taipei
Like strokes of Chinese calligraphy, birds take flight near the National Taiwan Democracy Memorial Hall in Taipei, which honors Taiwan's nationalist leader and first president, Chiang Kai-shek. "Exhibits here include his black Cadillac limousines and a 1938 Time magazine cover naming Chiang and his spouse, Madame Chiang [a political powerhouse in her own right], 'Man and Wife of the Year,'" says Marilyn Terrell, co-author of  "You Have Won a Trip to . . . Taiwan!" in the November/December of National Geographic Traveler.
