he Horizon Restaurant, a rooftop dining area of the Hotel Arcadia, affords a scenic view of the Blue Mosque, nicknamed for the color of its interior tiles. It's more formally known as the Sultan Ahmet Mosque and dates to the early 17th century. The mosque sits in Sultanahmet in Old Town Istanbul, along with numerous other grand attractions reachable on foot, including the Hagia Sophia, a massive cathedral completed by the Roman Emperor Justinian in the year 537, and Topkapi Palace, historic home to the Ottoman sultans. "I spent most afternoons walking around Istanbul trying to find the best spot to photograph the magnificent Blue Mosque," Mohan says. "This is one of my favorite spots. I can't think of a better place to have a drink and watch the golden sun on this magnificent building."
