The neighborhood of Saint Germain des Près is an ambiguous place. Luxury and fame mingle easily with emotions and mystery, the original with the classic, the beautiful with the fake. It is an area of liberty and games, talent and imperfection. I recall decorating my first shop window in 1968 with books, and everyone thought I was crazy. I continue this practice to this day. For me, the folds of a page are like the folds of a dress. I think the air in Saint Germain is crazy.
