Mountain Gorilla
 
Filmmaker Bruce Davidson started filming in Rwanda’s Virunga Mountains almost ten years ago, establishing close and trusting relationships with four gorilla brothers.

Exclusively for National Geographic Online, here’s an update on the gorilla brothers since the making of “Mountain Gorilla.” We’ll also tell you how you can help save this magnificent but endangered species.

LUWAWA was not able to escape poachers. Six men were convicted of killing Luwawa and two other gorillas, and sentenced to prison for 15 to 20 years.
