Global Photo Contest: Winners Revealed NOW!
In an interconnected world, issues of sustainability know no boundaries—and a photograph can tell these compelling stories like no other medium. To help inspire dialogue worldwide, Vale launched the “Eye on Sustainability” Global Photography Contest on June 5, 2011—World Environment Day. The contest called for entries in three categories—Wonders, Challenges, and Solutions—illustrating what’s at stake, the harsh realities we face, and what we’ve accomplished. We asked for photos that speak to sustainability across all its pillars—social, environmental, and economic.Nearly 3,000 photographs from around the world were submitted and we presented the official selection of finalists in each category—Wonders, Challenges and Solutions. We then invited the public to choose their favorites and YOU cast over 12,500 votes!
