Standing up for your rights is important. You should not be afraid to stand up for what you think is right, no matter what the consequences.

I think that I have the courage to do something, but I haven’t proved it to myself yet.

I think Rosa Parks made a difference! Thanks Rosa for your strength to endure some hard times.

When I was four years old I had to have a bunch of tests run on me to see what was the matter with my kidneys. I was very scared of going to the hospital, but my sisters were out in the waiting room and my mom and dad were in the room with me. I am just glad I don't to go through that again.

Courage is what you need to stand up for yourself. Rosa Parks has it!

First name: Dustin
Age:
State or province: British Columbia
Country: Canada

I wish I could be that courageous. It's hard to stand up to bigger people than yourself and against the law. I would back down right away .

First name: Melanie
Age: 11
State or province: Virginia
Country: U.S.A.

I think that your story on Rosa Parks should influence kids to be strong and stand up for what they believe in. People should be heard and not discriminated against because of race. No matter what, people should be heard

First name: Heidi
Age: 11
State or province: South Dakota
Country: U.S.A.

I think that blacks should have the same rights as whites. It is not their fault their skin is a different color! It doesn't matter!

First name: Adreon
Age: 11
State or province: Maryland
Country: U.S.A.

I think it is very important to stand up for what you believe in. Especially when it comes to racial discrimination. A person should not be kept from doing what he or she wants to do because of his or her skin color, religion, looks, or nationality.

What Rosa Parks did, had to take a lot of courage. I once went to this girl in my neighborhood, who pushes me around all the time. And I asked her to stop pushing me around.

Courage is something that must be fostered, and sometimes you have to have an emergency to bring it out and show it. I know everyone has courage whether they are conscious of it or not.

First name: Kathryn
Age: 12
State or province: Kent
Country: England

I could never do something so courageous if it was against the law, even if I knew it was wrong. Rosa Parks must be a very strong- willed woman to stand up for herself and others who are discriminated against.

I can't say that I have ever done anything quite as courageous as Rosa Parks, but once I tried to catch a loose horse from running into the street.

I really have not done anything courageous yet, but I like to learn about heroes like Rosa Park so that I can be more like her when I get older.

I participated in a picket line to help Black people get hired as cashiers at a local grocery store when I was a little younger. That took a lot of courage for me.

Courage is not always done in the open. Sometimes courage is done by just being silent. Often we are made fun of and talked about unjustly. I show my courage by ignoring those who have nothing to say. Walking away is often the best display of true courage.

Once I had to go in an ambulance and I talked to my friend to keep her calm rather than worry about myself. I think that we can learn to be brave because fear won't get us anywhere.

I climbed a very high mountain. We got stuck on it. It took courage to get back down.

Hi! We are a group of kids at Evelyn Gregory Public Library. Here are a few things that we think take courage: -Go on stage in front of other people to act or give a speech; -Learning to do things in the kitchen; -Sometimes it takes courage to clean our rooms! -Sleeping in the dark; -Writing letters to the government or royal family.

I am fortunate enough to be going to a school which is not only open to normal students from grades nine to OAC, but also to students with disabilities. Ever since we first started high school, my friends could never really accept the fact that we had others in this school who were not as fortunate as us. However, I refused to share their opinions, my heart goes out to these kids with disabilities. Therefore, I am currently volunteering at lunch twice a week to spend time with them and understand them better.

ROSA TAUGHT US THAT WE SHOULD STAND UP FOR WHAT WE BELIEVE, EVEN IF IT MEANS GETTING IN TROUBLE OR GETTING SENT TO JAIL.

There was a boy in my fourth-grade class who had some physical disabilities. Other kids pretty much ignored him and didn't try to be his friend. I decided to talk to him one day, and after that we became friends. I was the only one who talked to him for a while, but then other kids started being his friend too.

At my school only the fifth grade and below were allowed to swing on the swings. I didn't think that was fair, so I shared my feelings with the principal. From then on, everybody was allowed to swing on the swings. I think that took a lot of courage.
