"Geography captures the imagination. It stimulates curiosity about the world and the world's diverse inhabitants and places, as well as about local, regional, and global issues. By understanding our place in the world, humans can overcome parochialism and ethnocentrism." From Geography for Life.

Xpeditions activities offer younger and older Xpeditioners the opportunity to use geography to complete a variety of missions. Parents, teachers, and friends can lend a hand. Xpeditioners are encouraged to use the "X-tras"maps, games, stories, Web sites, and interactive featuresto complete the tasks and to visit related annexes in Xpedition Hall once their mission is through.
All activities are based on the U.S. National Geography Standards, and complementary lesson plans are available for educators.
