Check it out: Volcanically cooked rocks heat water in hidden places beneath the ground. The water burbles up in hundreds of hot springs all over Yellowstone. And how hot is hot? Anywhere from lukewarm to above boiling. So if you took a swim in some of these pools, you'd be poached like a fish.
