From Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD)
Take 66 east toward Washington approximately 28 miles (45 kilometers). Keep following until you reach the Theodore Roosevelt Bridge. Cross over the bridge. This road will turn into Constitution Avenue. Follow Constitution Avenue until it is possible to turn left onto 17th Street (left turns are restricted during rush hour). Follow 17th Street to K Street and make a right. Make a left at 17th Street (17th Street is offset on K Street). The National Geographic Society is two blocks up and will be on your right at the intersection of 17th Street and M Street. The Beacon Hotel is one block further north on 17th Street at the corner of 17th Street and Rhode Island Avenue. The hotel is on the right hand side.
From Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA)
Exit the airport onto George Washington Parkway and follow to the 14th Street Bridge exit. Cross the 14th Street bridge and follow 14th Street to Thomas Circle about 1 mile (approximately 1.6 kilometers). Follow circle 3/4 of the way around until it is possible to exit onto Massachusetts Avenue. Stay on Massachusetts Avenue until reaching Scott Circle. Follow Scott Circle 3/4 of the way around until it is possible to exit onto 16th street. Make a right on M Street. The National Geographic Society will be on your left.

Take the Blue-Line train toward DC from National Airport and exit at “Farragut West.” Walk approximately 3 blocks north on 17th Street to the National Geographic Society building (or 4 blocks to the Beacon Hotel).

From Route I-270 Northwest/Frederick & Hagerstown, MD
Follow I-270 South towards Washington, D.C. to where I-270 forks. Take the I-495 Maryland fork. Follow the I-495 exit onto Georgia Avenue South. After about 1 mile (approximately 1.6 kilometers) make a right onto 16th Street South. Follow this road for about 10 miles (approximately 16 kilometers) and make a right onto M Street. The National Geographic Society will be on your left.
From Virginia and Points South
Follow I-95 North towards Washington. I-95 will turn into I-395 after you cross the beltway. Stay on I-395 North/US-1 North exit toward Washington. Cross the 14th Street Bridge. Follow signs for US-1 North (left two lanes veer off at far end of bridge). This will put you on 14th Street SW. Continue north on 14th Street, it becomes 14th Street NW. Continue north to K Street NW and turn left on K Street. Make a right at 17th Street NW. The National Geographic Society is two blocks up and will be on your right at the intersection of 17th Street and M Street. The Beacon Hotel is one block further north on 17th Street at the corner of 17th Street and Rhode Island Avenue on the right hand side.
