Based in Zagreb, Alex Crevar is a writer and editor. He has reported travel stories as a regular contributor for publications such as the New York Times, Lonely Planet, and National Geographic Travel for more than 20 years.
Over the last decade, Crevar has worked to merge two concepts: sustainable tourism and responsible travel journalism. He advises tourism organizations to develop best practices and was instrumental in the creation of the Via Dinarica hiking trail, which traverses the eight countries of the Western Balkans region and acts a cultural corridor across Southeastern Europe.
As well as serving as a guest lecturer at universities, Crevar teaches pro bono travel journalism workshops in countries around the world with writers in developing tourism markets. His belongings fit into one duffel.
