Caity Garvey

Caity Garvey is a digital producer and writer with National Geographic Travel & Adventure where she oversees the production of editorial content, Facebook Live production, and digital opportunities and partnerships. She’s written articles on the national parks and Peru and produced a Facebook Live interview with former Vice President of the United States, Joe Biden.

Prior to joining the National Geographic Travel team, she worked for the office of the CEO at National Geographic Partners and was responsible for the day-to-day management of the transaction of internal business, managing workflows, and creating business presentations and briefs. Garvey first got her start at National Geographic as an editorial assistant with National Geographic Traveler magazine and National Geographic’s travel books division, where she was responsible for the editorial accuracy of content, researching book proposals to determine profitability, and writing and researching content for department pages. From this position she moved into several other roles within National Geographic Channels and National Geographic magazine, where she first got her taste (and love) of digital where she assisted in the digital migration of articles to a new content management system and was responsible for generating analytic reports on the performance of National Geographic magazine on mobile devices.

Garvey is a graduate from the University of Pittsburgh with a bachelor degree in journalism and history. She was a writer for The Pitt News. She holds a certificate in visual storytelling from UC Berkeley. When she’s not figuring out how to best engage National Geographic Travel & Adventure’s digital audience, you’ll find her writing, cooking, reading, traveling, hiking, and finding the newest and coolest restaurant to check-out.
