Richie Hertzberg is a video producer and editor for National Geographic, also writing online news articles with a focus on animal behavior and new frontiers in exploration.
The Northern California native is a 2014 graduate of Catholic University of America, where he studied philosophy and Spanish. After time in the film industry—including work on a documentary about the aftermath of the Rwandan genocide and a reality TV show about off-grid cabin builders—Hertzberg moved to National Geographic in early 2017.
His hobbies include all sports, except for hockey, because ice-skating is confusing. You can also find him playing trombone in DC jazz clubs on the weekends.
