Rachel Nuwer

Rachel Nuwer is a freelance journalist who writes about science, travel, food, and adventure. She lives in Brooklyn but hails from the deep south of Mississippi, where a childhood spent exploring beaches and bayous kicked off her lifelong love for nature. Her story subjects range from donkey trade in Africa to bodies on Mount Everest, and her work regularly appears in National Geographic, the New York Times, BBC, and more.

Her first book, Poached: Inside the Dark World of Wildlife Trafficking, published by Da Capo Press, is available now.
