Gerard Baker is Editor at Large of The Wall Street Journal. He writes columns and commentary and will be hosting a WSJ TV news and interview show on Fox. Gerard previously served as Editor in Chief of the Journal and Dow Jones from 2013 to 2018 and, before that, was Deputy Editor in Chief. Before joining the Journal, Gerard worked for The Times of London, where he served as U.S. editor and assistant editor; The Financial Times, where he was Tokyo correspondent, Washington bureau chief, and chief U.S. commentator; and the BBC, where he was economics correspondent. He started his working life as an analyst at the Bank of England, and then as an economist in the city of London. Gerard was educated at Corpus Christi College, Oxford University, where he graduated with a First Class Honors degree in philosophy, politics, and economics. He will join the expedition from Seattle to Mongolia.
