Robert Lee Hotz is a former science journalist for The Wall Street Journal where he explored the world of new research and its impact on society. He has covered stories from Silicon Valley to Antarctica, including four expeditions to the South Pole. Lee has twice been a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize and shared a 1995 Pulitzer Prize for breaking news. He is president of the Alicia Patterson Foundation, which funds independent journalism projects around the world, and for many years was a distinguished writer in residence at New York University. He is a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
