Growing up in a U.S. Marine Corps family, Ron Leidich was introduced to a wide variety of cultures and habitats from an early age. His fascination with the diverse creatures he found in his every-changing backyard led him to pursue a degree in biology at Oregon State University. He then set out to explore the world as a wilderness guide and dive instructor. When he first glimpsed the vibrant coral reefs of Micronesia, he immediately chose to settle in Palau, and has been leading expeditions across the region for 20 years. In addition to managing two kayaking companies, he enjoys supporting ocean conservation initiatives and exploring underwater worlds with his children.
