Ryoko Aosaki

Ryoko Aosaki is happiest exploring a place on foot. With a dozen years under her belt as a hiking guide in Japan, North America, and Europe, Ryoko has been leading and coordinating tours for more than 20 years. She “fell in love with the wild” on a life-changing trip to Alaska, where in 2007 she returned to complete a rigorous backpacking and mountaineering course at the nonprofit National Outdoor Leadership School in the United States. As adept at wilderness survival skills as she is at offering local insights, Aosaki enjoys revealing the deep connection between nature and culture in Japan.
