Thorold Barker is editor for Europe, Middle East and Africa, for The Wall Street Journal and Dow Jones Newswires. Thorold started at the Journal in 2008, when he relaunched Heard on the Street as the paper’s flagship commentary and analysis column on global business and finance. He previously worked at the Financial Times for ten years, covering technology, the economy, and Wall Street, and serving four years as editor of the U.S. paper's influential Lex business and finance column. A graduate of Trinity College, Cambridge University, with a degree in modern languages, Thorold began his career at strategy consulting firm Bain and Company, based in London and Johannesburg.
