Thorold Barker is the Editor for Europe, Middle East, and Africa at The Wall Street Journal. Thorold joined the Journal in 2008 to relaunch “Heard on the Street” as the paper’s flagship column on global business and finance, before editing it for five years. Prior to that, Thorold was a business reporter and Lex Column writer at the Financial Times in London. He moved to New York in 2003 where he became U.S. Lex Editor. He started his career at the strategy consulting firm Bain and Company after graduating from Cambridge University’s Trinity College with a degree in modern languages.
