Mountaineer and activist Wasfia Nazreen is a National Geographic Emerging Explorer and Adventurer of the Year. Wasfia is the only Bengali to climb the world’s seven summits, and has won numerous international awards for her activism and commitment to empowering women through outdoor adventure. She is the founder of Ösel Foundation, which provides young girls in Bangladesh and Nepal with mindfulness training and outdoor education. She is also the co-founder of RESET, which connects leaders with nature and encourages them to create positive change for the planet. Wasfia was named by Outside magazine in 2017 as one of the 40 women who have advanced and challenged the outdoor world through their leadership, innovation, and athletic feats, and by Men's Journal as one of the 25 most adventurous women of the past 25 years.
