Love Food Trucks? Take Our #StreetFood Challenge

What’s your favorite thing about food trucks? The camaraderie of waiting in line with your mouth watering? The smell of the grease as your fries hit the fryer? The barbecue sauce dripping down your arm as you bite into your hot dog-taco-kimchi-burger? Tweeting selfies with your dish? All of that?

To celebrate summer and pay homage to the growing army of gourmet food trucks popping up on every city block, National Geographic is launching a contest where you can share your best #streetfood experience with us and the rest of the world.

Come on, at least half of us have eaten at a food truck, so grab your camera next time you go and snap a few pics.

Just join National Geographic’s Your Shot community (it’s free!) and submit your image tagged #streetfood. The images are shared online and discussed by the community, and then a National Geographic editor will select the top images.

For inspiration, see our National Geographic Magazine’s feature on the birth of L.A.’s food truck revolution. Check out the tricked-out trucks captured by our photographer.

The #streetfood challenge runs from June 20 – June 30. The winners will be featured on National Geographic’s food blog, The Plate, on July 7.
