Here’s What We Take on Assignment

What gear do you take with you to tell stories around the world? We hear that question often. Here’s a look at the equipment Spencer and I are taking on the road. Most of it is the photography gear to shoot great photos and video. It looks like a lot—and it is—but we could bring lots more. The specifics:

As for me, I’m a writer. All I generally need is a laptop and a few notepads. I’m well aware of which collection is more impressive. No one grows up dreaming of carrying a notepad on his back. Being a photographer is the best job in the world, according to the National Geographic Channel. Although I ask you this: over thousands of miles, without caddies or sherpas, which load of gear would you rather carry?
