Erika Larsen

For more than a decade, Erika Larsen has used photography to document cultures that maintain strong connections with nature. She has followed Sámi reindeer herders in the Scandinavian Arctic and explored the significance of the horse in Native American culture for National Geographic magazine. Erika received a Fulbright Fellowship to study the North Sámi language, which resulted in her first book of photographs, Sámi, Walking with Reindeer. She was named a National Geographic Society Fellow in 2018, and her portraits are featured in the upcoming book Women: The National Geographic Image Collection.
