Inside the World of Illegal Street Racing in the Caribbean

Cruising down the highway at breakneck speeds, daredevil teenagers in the Dominican Republic are risking their lives to engage in illegal street races. Fueled by boredom, the motorcycle ’sport’ has developed its own distinct subculture on the island. In this short film, Aurélien Heilbronn follows the gangs through the streets for a glimpse inside their underground world of adrenaline, partying, and violence. Despite the risks they take to compete, the bikers share a love for their high-speed stunts and the close-knit community of thrill-seekers built around it.
