About Partners In Preservation
Created by American Express and the National Trust for Historic Preservation, the Partners
in Preservation campaign has committed $16 Million in support of historic places across the
country. Partners in Preservation seeks to increase public awareness about the importance of
historic preservation, while conserving America's historic and cultural treasures. The program
also hopes to inspire long-term support from local citizens for historic places at the heart
of their communities.
The 2016 Partners in Preservation: National Parks campaign awarded $2 million in grants to
historic sites in need of preservation within national park units, as decided by popular vote.
The sites with the most votes at the end of the voting period were awarded grants for historic
preservation projects. A full list of the results, and the funded projects can be found at
voteyourpark.org/results.
This year, National Geographic, a partner with strong ties to U.S. National Parks as well as
historic preservation, joined forces with the program, promoting Partners in Preservation:
National Parks across its website and social channels.

Partners in Preservation: Public Voting Ballot
Welcome to the National Geographic Partners, LLC (“NGP”) Public Voting Ballot
initiative. This initiative has now ended. To help your favorite park site(s) (each a “Park”) receive a grant
from American Express for much needed repair and restoration, users were encouraged
to visit natgeo.com/voteyourpark every day starting May 25th @ 12:01am EST and
ending July 5th at 11:59pm EST.
In order to cast a vote, users needed to login through (i) Facebook or (ii) an
authenticated email verification method. Users may have vote once per day for up to 5
Parks per voting session. NGP has calculated all votes to determine which parks received the highest number of votes. Those top Parks
will be awarded a combined $2 Million United States Dollars in grant funding from
American Express. These generous grants will help fund each winning Park's restoration
and/or repair project.
