For most photographers, "exposure" means light and shutter
speed. But the term assumed a far more sinister aspect when
photographer Seamus Murphy traveled to Gulu, Uganda, to
cover the most recent Ebola outbreak.
In fall 2000, with danger quite literally in the air, Murphy
and writer Tom Clynes chronicled the doctors and scientists
who risked their lives to stop the spread of the disease.
Murphy's award-winning coverage is featured in the
May/June 2001 issue of Adventure in "Dangerous
Medicine" (preview) and in this gallery of online-only
photos.
